40th Great Run

Another TV shoot to mark what should have been the 40th Great Run. Watch out this coming weekend for footage.

This will be the fourth time we have been asked to film for the Great Run Company.

Yesterday was another working collaboration with Dropzone Images who shot the aerial footage and adds to the growing list of TV and blue-chip corporate clients we provide filming for.

Dropzone Images said “Lovely to be out and about today at South Shields to film Gabby Logan and Brendan Foster for a special BBC show which will be aired on 13th September when the 40th Great North Run should have been taking place. Another great project collaborating with Skylark Aerial Photography”.

The Great North Run was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

More than 55,000 runners were due to take part in the half-marathon on 13 September, in what would have been its 40th year.

Organisers said they had not taken the decision lightly and had tried to find a way to hold the run – from Newcastle to South Shields – while observing social distancing.

Runners are eligible for refunds or can transfer their entry to next year.
