Filming MV Swift for Windermere Lake Cruises
We were pleased to again provide aerial footage of the MV Swift.
On a sunny calm October day Skylark captured the MV Swift undergoing trials and staff training whilst at Lakeside Windermere.
Many stills were taken along with video footage.
At one point the vessel moved away from the jetty to allow the MV Swan to come alongside. An ideal opportunity to capture both vessels together.
(MV Swan was built in 1938 by Vickers of Barrow. The sections of boat were transported by rail to Lakeside and assembled. The M.V. Swan is 142ft long weighing 251 tonnes).
Work is well-underway on assembling Windermere Lake Cruises’ brand-new 300-seat boat, MV Swift, which is currently on-schedule.
Built by Netherlands-based boat-builder Damen, the new addition to the Windermere Lake Cruises fleet will be the largest craft to be ‘launched’ onto Windermere for more than 80 years.
Too large to transport by road, the size of the vessel means it is necessary to build it in smaller sections off-site before being transported to Lakeside for final assembly.
